Dumpstaphunk celebrates its rightly-earned reputation as one of the most respected New Orleans musical institutions. With legacy band members Ivan Neville (keyboards/vocals) and Ian Neville (guitar), the sons of Aaron Neville and art “Poppa Funk” Neville respectively, alongside original member Tony Hall (bass, guitar, vocals), the band has built upon their iconic NOLA heritage as they’ve transformed Dumpstaphunk into the city’s pre-eminent 21st century funk-fusion export. Their performances have attracted sit-ins from the likes of Carlos Santana, Flea, Bob Weir, George Clinton, Trombone Shorty, and Dave Matthews, just to name a few. They’ve opened for the Rolling Stones at the New Orleans Superdome in 2019 and at Jazz Fest in 2024. These days, their modernization and reinvigoration of the influential Meters/Neville Family groove has drawn critical acclaim for the undeniable musicality of their live performances and 4 studio albums.
