Robin Henkel performs blues with an intensity rarely seen in Southern California.  Drawing from the styles of Robert Johnson, Fred McDowell and Elmore James, Robin has molded his own intense and entertaining personal style. Robin’s performances often include stories and anecdotes regarding the history of the blues and  the unique vintage instruments he performs with. He is a four time recipient of "Best Blues" at the San Diego Music Awards.  

Robin Henkel’s amazing guitar playing encompasses the blues, jazz, funk, country swing, Hawaiian and Latin music. Always one to shake things up, he borrows from all of those styles in his performances. When he picks up that sawed-off pipe fitting and puts it on his baby finger and then lays it on the strings of a resonator or Dobro, suddenly the awkward kid from Serra Mesa is transformed into the man who commands everyone;s attention Those who have seen him know to expect the unexpected and enjoy the pleasant surprises of the musical directions his songs take.
