As the Gator by the Bay festival approaches, we wanted to share our special “Ode to Louisiana Cuisine” with you. We look forward to sharing in all of these wonderful delights with you Mother’s Day weekend!

Ode to Louisiana Cuisine

Louisiana, you’re one of a kind.
Your cuisine is the first thing that comes to mind.
I would travel from afar to taste its richness.
How much I would eat is no body’s business!

I’ve heard about the delicacies of frog legs, alligator, and catfish.
I’ve dreamed about the boils with corn, potato, shrimp or crawfish.
I can’t wait to dip French bread into the gumbos and the gravies.
I have a feeling when I taste a Po’boy, I’m going to yell, “Oh yeah, baby!”

The gumbo will be perfect—I just know it!
That smoked sausage, the chicken and salty rice…I won’t be able to quit!
Oh, and I can’t forget the chicory coffee and beignets.
At this rate, I’ll be in a food coma for days!

Louisiana is definitely known for its delicious cuisine. The combinations and flavors are endless, and we’re just talking about the traditional dishes! Luckily, you can experience the local’s food without the trip down to the bayou! At Gator by the Bay, we’re cooking up so much food that you’ll have to come by every day to taste it all!

Whether you want to be a spectator or a participant, we have you covered. There will be Cajun and Creole food, cooking demos, samples, vendors who specialize in Southern food, desserts, and drinks. The food alone will make you want to two-step, so come hungry!

Laissez les bon temps rouler, Cher!
